Bump in the Road

The good news is that Julia's heart is doing great. No fluid issues, and pumping exactly like it should! The not great news is that we had to readmit Julia to the hospital yesterday in Dallas. She just was not able to keep anything down and subsequently was increasingly listless, losing weight and in danger of becoming dehydrated. Apparently Miss Julia caught a stomach bug while in the hospital the first time. Everyone did everything possible to keep conditions aseptic, but the bug got to her anyway.

The good news today is that after a day/night back in the hospital, Julia is getting back to her old self. They administered an IV immediately yesterday, gave her anti-nausea medicine, and she's bouncing back. She ate breakfast this morning and is doing so much better. She chirpily told me this morning, "Mommy, my voice is back to normal and my heart is fixed!" Said her tummy was doing better, too.

Based on her progress, she will most likely be released late this afternoon or tomorrow morning, and then returning home to Houston. She'll be back home before we know it!

Will keep you posted.

Oh no! Nasty stomach bug... Everyone I know right now is sick so it's hard to avoid that. Thankfully it sounds like it was reasonably treatable. Hopefully Julia's back on the road to recovery and back to full speed soon!

Julia:
How great you've been through all of this surgery. Don't let a little bug get you down. Grandma and I are pulling for you to get all well soon.

Julia,
You tell that little bug to hit the road! We want you all full of smiles and cheer. Take care and have a blessed Thanksgiving!

I know this doesn't sound right but the hospital is the most common place to get sick. All the sick people and germs all gathered together at one place. About the same at a school. Lots of germs that won't go away easy. Take care and hang in there everyone.
